The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Structurally sound, with general overall marks, knocks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. Some signs of infill in places and subtle discoloration, most notably to top. The later leather writing surface with minor surface scratches and mild wear as is expected. Typical scattered chips and small losses to carved and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in some places.
