The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend. The Russian cope well pieced and with some minor rubbing and wear to the ground and metallic threads. The fringe with some minor fraying and wear to the metallic-wrapped threads. The waxed lining with a hand-written tag reading: "22.5/18". Presents very well overall.
The Continental cope well pieced and with very minor wear to the ground. The metallic border with tarnishing and losses to the metallic-wrapped threads, revealing base threads beneath. The edges with some minor fraying. The moire silk lining with some minor discoloration, staining and a tear at one edge.
The crimson panels pieced and with areas of rubbing abrasions to the velvet ground. some fraying to the edges (uneven) and with button holes. The waxed lining with soiling, discoloration and areas of staining.
