The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall with some minor scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use, the gilding generally worn, with some heavy scratching and wear to the gilding over the engraved monogram, possibly in a previous attempt to remove it, some minor bends to the edges, though towards to the back and not necessarily visible at the front, lacking securing pins for the wooden back, the wooden back with some nicks and scratches as to be expected as well as some minor separation at the joins not visible from the front, the mirror plate with some foxing, fogging, and very minor losses to the silvering, the edges of the mirror plate with some minor 'nibbling' to the glass, though not visible when in the frame, the front of the mirror plate and the wooden back with old Sotheby's lot stickers.
