The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.
The English moon shawl with scattered minor areas of staining and some larger areas of discoloration; a few scattered areas of rubbing and wear and repaired holes; some gapping where the stripes meet. The Scottish shawl with some runs, repair and rubbing to the chocolate brown ground; scattered stains and a few areas of discoloration; a tear at one end approx. 11⁄2 in. long; minor fraying and gapping to the edges where it meets the lining.
