The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.

The floor carpet with delicate couching in the beautiful silk threads still vibrant and with strong pigments. The spread has been professionally and expertly restored with a new backing and a later ground of vermicular meander. There are small areas of loss or fraying to the embroidered silk threads. The field with a few patch repairs (one approx. 2¹⁄₂ in. sq.). Scattered watermarks to the cotton with discoloration and soiling. Minor soiling overall as to be expected. The later backing with fraying raw edges as to be expected with this type of material.
