In overall good order and appearance, structurally sound and ready to use. The brown leather-inset writing surface is later, and with nicely worn appearance. The whole with minor sun-fading throughout. Some scattered replacements to veneers, commensurate with age and use. The removeable reading shelf probably later associated. A horizontal age split to the center of the top, could benefit from some attention as desired. Some age cracks to underside of top and to top of stem as well. Old repairs and reinforcements to shelf holding up the top, which has also been further reinforced with metal brackets. In general, the top might be associated as stated in cataloguing. The tripod base with metal brackets supporting it as well. One foot with signs of an old repaired break, the others with general marks and scuffs throughout.
