Lovely pair of stained field maple (sometimes referred to as mulberry wood) torcheres. This selection of timber and pattern of staining was intended to imitate tortoiseshell. They are both structurally sound and ready to use with the typical scattered nicks, surface marks, scuffs, chips, and tiny losses and patches to veneers. Some infill to areas with previous small losses, and the legs and base with old repairs which are well disguised. The platform top of each stand has old horizontal and vertical age splits to the veneers--this is quite typical and they show signs of having been previously repaired and is table at present but could benefit from further infill and color-matching if desired. Overall present well, especially with candles on top. Ready to use.
