Various flaked chips to the top edge of teh vessel rim. Small chips to edge of foot. Minor wear overall including some light pitting and some cracks to the glaze. Some minor rubbing and loss to the black glaze over the handle. Some loss to the added colours including the border and handle of the mirror the woman is holding, the branch the satyr is holding, the rock he sits on and their shoes. Some mis-firing to the black glaze under the scene. A larger chip, approx. 6 mm wide, just under the join of the handle and body. A small area of white dirt encrustaion on the side of the vessel.

Label on the interior of the neck reading "H.S. 162" referring to Harald Schmid and the reference from the 1967 publication. Old letter written in Italian inside vessel, detailing how client purchased the vase on 19th July 1960 in Naples.
