The inscription consists of 8 bands of hieroglyphs from Chapter 6 of the Book of the Dead, reading: "O ye (lit. these) Shabtys! If the Osiris, the King’s Scribe Hor-maa-kheru, born of Mer-et-Neith, is counted in order to do any work which is done there in the Necropolis – for an obstacle has been placed there – as a man to his duty, Behold! Here am I! thus shall say ye, at any time which is made there, in order to cultivate the fields, in order to irrigate the river-banks, in order to convey sand of the West to the East and vice versa, Here am I! Thus shall say ye, if ye are counted at any hour, thresh/gather (?) in the act of restoring (?) it when [ye ?] find any (?)...”
