The body depicts one satyr about to violate a deer while another satyr holds its muzzle. As J. Boardman informs (p. 216 in Early Greek Vase Painting), lekythoi of the Dolphin Class were once considered Attic but were later reassigned to the Euboean cities of Eretria or Chalcis.
