The white-ground lekythos depicts a lady running towards an altar carrying two torches and was attibuted to the Manner of the Aischines Painter by Beazley. White ground lekythos: heavily weathered surface with little of the figure remaining. Top of her head, areas of drapery, left arm and torch and right hand and torch remaining. An overpainted section to her upper body. Flaming altar visible on the right. Chips to shoulder and edge of mouth. Dirt and dust encrustation. Paer label "17" on lower body. Underside of foot with label "HS 114" which is on top of another label reading "7". Black-figured lekythos: Handle repaired from fragments with glue visible and losses along the break lines. Black glaze flaked and lost in places from the mouth, lower body and foot. Lower body with areas of mis-firing to red of the black glaze. Areas of heavy pitting to the winged gorgons face and to the back of her hair. A flaked chip to the shoulder of the vessel just above her head. Heavy mis-siring to red on the figure standing on the right with areas of loss of the black glaze of this figure. Small areas of loss and nicks to the gorgons wing. Minor wear overall with heavy dirt encrustation to mouth interior.
