Lot Essay

Mrs Ann Pickering (née Smith; d. 1919), lived in Kansas for several years, before moving to Mount Vernon, WA in 1889, and later in circa 1909 to Anacortes. John Pickering, her husband, died in Anacortes in 1926 (they had married in 1865). He moved to the America from Northamptonshire in 1870 to set up a farm. Ann followed her husband in 1871, and almost certainly took this cabinet with her.
