Good decorative condition overall and ready to hang, with hanging hooks to the reverse at the top. The tapestry has been later lined and is inscribed 20878 to the reverse. As catalogued, reduced in size, lacking borders and with a later blue slip. Scattered restorations throughout including but not limited to: the drapery above Venus' head, the hand of one figure to the left, and several other areas; these have been well done. Some slits opening to the steps between the two figures and to the steps below Venus. Some losses to the silks. General discolouration and fading overall as to be expected. The skin tones have darkened, particularly to the two figures with the spades. Good definition and colour variation nevertheless in the lower half of the tapestry.
