The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are inevitable scratches, marks, scuffs, abrasions, dents, knocks and heavy discolouration overall due to age and use. The top with extensive marks, blemishes and lifting of the veneers, losses, replacements and restorations. Overall, there are shrinkage splits, losses and replacements to the veneers throughout. Three of the locks to the small drawers have been removed. The escutcheon to the false frieze drawer is missing and the other escutcheons are probably replaced. The mirror plate to the underside of the top is foxed and speckled. Evidence of old apparently inactive woodworm. Structurally stable.
Overall in 'country house' condition.
