The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are inevitable scratches, marks, scuffs, abrasions, dents and knocks due to age and use. Discolouration overall, due to exposure to sunlight. The top is quite dry and is faded, with various marks and blemishes throughout, but retaining the fabulous contrast in the timbers to some degree. Some traces of green staining to the parquetry. Minor lifting to the veneers, notably to the edges; and overall with losses, restorations and replacements to the veneers and banded edges. The baize has been replaced to the slide inside the drawer. The drawer will not close properly with the baize-lined slide pulled completely to the front - probably due to movement and shrinkage in the timbers. The secret drawer is accessed from within the drawer, beneath the top (simply pushed out). There is one key. Structurally stable.
