The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
To each: various knocks, scuffs, marks, scratches, dents and abrasions consistent with age and use. Structurally sound.
The giltwood example - rubbing, wear and minor losses to the gilt decoration throughout. Later silk lined to the interior. The back right hinge defective. The silk panels with splits, fading and discolouration throughout though are nicely handled. Some scattered gold-painted repairs to the gilding.
The ebonised example: Some wear and tear and minor losses to the decoration. The top slide revealing a compartment with a repair. Overall in good decorative order.
