We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
There is a 3.5 cm. long vertical hairline crack going down from the mouth rim, with a few minute losses of enamel along the crack line on the reverse.
There is a 0.2 cm. long firing crack going down from the mouth rim.
There is an underglaze small flat chip inside the foot rim.
There is very little wear to the gilding.
There is a circular paper label reading 'R.H.R.P. / 436' on the base.
General age-related surface wear, scratches and minute firing faults as can be expected.
Please note that this dish was displayed in a cabinet at the Palmer Family home, Hurst Grove, and appears in an old black and white photograph published in the catalogue.
