The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- The bases of both vases have been drilled and the circular centre of the marks have been replaced.
- One vase with an approx. 3.5 x 2.5 cm. areas of restoration/touch-up to the enamels (possibly due to a shock) and an approx. 1x1 cm. areas of restoration to the enamels on a peony petal.
- Both vases with some scattered small areas of touch-ups to the enamels.
There is overpainting to two pink peonies on the lower body of one vase.
- Both vases have a few minute areas of touch up, and some expected minor surface wear.
- Some pitting to the enamels.
- Little wear to the gilding.
- There are minor dents and nicks to the rims and edges.
