The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The foliated dish:
The dish broken in two and restuck, associated with an approx. 11 cm. wide section of the rim broken in three and restuck as well as a 1 cm. wide section of the rim on the other end of the break broken and restuck, all with associated minute losses and touch-ups along the break lines.
Some chips and nicks under the foot rim.
Extensive fritting and small shallow chips to the mouth rim.
The other dish:
A 5.5 cm. wide C-shaped section of the rim broken and restuck with associated overspraying.
A restored flat chip to the mouth rim extending on the flat rim with associated overpraying and touch-ups.
A chip to the mouth rim, associated approx. 8.5 cm. long hairline crack.
Two approx. 2 cm. and 2.5 cm. long hairlines going down from the mouth rim and meeting.
A few flat chips and extensive fritting to the mouth rim.
Some chips and nicks under the foot rim.
A circular paper label with the handwritten inscription '291' on the base.
Both dishes:
Some areas of wear and some flakes to the enamels.
A few deep scratches.
General age-related surface wear and scratches as can be expected.
