The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The globular teapot and cover:
- There are a few nicks to the cover's inner rim.
- There is a glaze flake to the body.
- There is a small faint star-crackle inside the body.
- Otherwise, it is in good overall condition.
The ewers:
- Both with some flakes and frittings to the edges and rims, especially to the corners of the feet.
- Both with flakes to the end of their handle.
- One with its handle detached and restuck, with associated small losses along the cracks.
- The other one with a hairline around the junction between the body and the lower end of the handle.
- There is a glaze flake to the mouth rim of an ewer.
- Both with a few nicks and extensive fritting to the extremity of the spout.
- Both with firing faults as can be expected.
- General age-related surface wear as can be expected.
