The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There is a polished small chip to the extremity of a wing.
- There are a few nicks to the rims/extremities, including the ears.
- There is a knock to one corner, which has been possibly restuck.
- There are natural russet inclusions within the stone.
- There are few thin flaw lines within the stone.
Otherwise, the carving is in overall good condition with slight age-related surface scratches as can be expected.
