The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The mangao: faded; the collar, shoulder and button loops are frayed; staining, particularly to the undearms; tears to the underarm area (approx.. 10 cm.); a few holes; the couching is well-preserved; 38.5 in. long; 66 ¾ in. wide, fragile
The ivory-ground jacket: The edges of a few of the applique designs slightly loose; the sleeve with loose stitching; a few light stains; 27 ¾ in. x 56 in.
The ivory skirt: with a hole to the waistband (approx.. 8 cm.), stains
The blue-ground robe: later tailored, a few loose couched threads; 60 in. wide x 35 ¼ in. long
The ivory-ground shawl: appears to be in overall good condition; apart from a small stain to the edge; 54 in. x 54 in.
