CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There are later blue silk linings to the interiors of the sleeves and the robe has a later brown cloth lining, the stitches visible to the interior yellow silk panel. The interior lining is stained in places.
- The sides have possibly been slightly taken in.
- There are a few loose threads.
- There is general wear to the gilt metal threads, particularly on the sleeves, as expected.
- There are a couple of small dark brown spots to the reverse below the collar.
