The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The two-handled jar:
- One of the handles has been broken and reattahced with associated restoration.
- There is a small bruise to the lower edge of the bowl, measuring 0.5 cm long.
- There are a few tiny losses.
- There are three letters in black ink to the base, reading 'K.G.A.'.
- The cover with an area of restoration to the rim with associated overpainting and overspraying, and some small associated losses, measuring approx. 5 cm x 0.6 cm.
- There are traces of a blue pugment to he underside of the cover.
The ewer:
- There are a few shallow chips to the interior of the aperture.
- There is restoration to the end of the spout.
- There is a paper label to the base reading 'K'ANG-HI (1662-1722)'.
- Both with age-related surface wear, rubbing, small enamel flakes and scratches as can be expected.
