The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.

Circular box:
Good overall condition with a few minute nicks and associated minute losses of lacquer to the mouth rim.

Quadrilobed box:
Good overall condition.

Fan-form box:
A piece a lacquer forming a section of the fan's armature on the cover is detached (the element is not missing, just detached).
A chip with associated losses of lacquer to an upper corner of the cover, a small chip one of the box's lower corner with associated loss of lacquer.
A few nicks to the edges and rims.
An approx. 2.5 cm. long crack on the cover's rim.
A 1.5 cm. wide whitish stain on the box along the foot rim.
A few minute scattered wear/loss of gilding.

The multi-fan-form box:
Some indentations on the surface and rims, mainly on the base and inside the cover, and including a small dent to the box's mouth rim and to the cover's rim.
A chip to a box's rim, a small chip to a cover's rim with associated loss of lacquer.
Some small nicks / nicks to the rims and surface.
A few deep scratches.
A few minute age cracks.
A few possible touch-ups to the lacquer.

All boxes with light surface scratches and light age-related wear as can be expected.
