A GILT-HARDWOOD FIGURE OF VAJRASATTVA
CHINA, 19TH CENTURY
Vajrasattva is carved seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with a vajra held to his chest and a ghanta in his lap. He is draped in jewels and his serene face is surmounted by a foliate tiara flanked by elaborate pendants.
