The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The shoes:
- They have small scattered nicks to the extremities.
- One has a small bruise.
- Two have a circular label reading 'MILLIE & CO', one with the number 45, and one has a label reading 'L. WANNIECK PARIS' to the base.
The brush-rest:
- There is damage to the faces of the figures and to the tip of one mountain.
- The base has a black ink number reading '5422'.
- There are a few nicks to the extremities.
The lotus brush-washer:
This is in good overall condition with some kiln flaws to the base and a paper label reading 'L. WANNIECK PARIS'.
The mice:
- One of them had both ears reattached and restored.
- Both have small nicks to the extremities.
- The other has losses to the tips of both ears.
The pomegrenate center piece:
- There are some small losses to te extremities, including to the tips of three leaves.
- There are some visible kiln splits to the base.
The fingered citron center piece:
- There are various kiln splits and flaws, mainly yo the leaves.
- The base has two labels, one readind 'MAILLIE & CO PARIS 9' and the other reading 'KHANG HI 1662-1722'.
- There are a few nicks to the extremities.
There are some small losses and rubbing to the enamels of the pieces.
