The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
There are natural inclusions and flaw lines all over within the stone.
There is a russet fissure visible inside the box, going along the base inside, measuring 13 cm. long. Another one is starting from the mouth rim. There is a fissure to the cover.
There is a chip (1.5 cm. wide) to the mouth rim of the box.
There are some dents / nicks to the rims of the box and cover.
There might be a few inlays possibly replaced.
There are a few minute sections of loss to the gold inlays.
The box and cover with general age-related surface wear as can be expected.
