A LONGQUAN CELADON 'TWIN FISH' DISH AND A LONGQUAN CELADON DEEP BOWL
CHINA, SONG-MING DYNASTY (960-1644)
The first dish has an everted rim and is carved on the exterior with a band of upright petals and relief-decorated in the center with two small fish, all under a brown-tone glaze with a hint of green on the mouth rim and around the foot rim. The second deep bowl is carved on the exterior with overlapping petals rising from the foot, and covered all over with a glaze of pale sea-green tone.
Dish: 8 ½ in. (21.6 cm.) diam.
Bowl: 6 in. (15.2 cm.) diam.
