The arms are those of Jan Albert Sichterman (1692-1764), who was a Director of the Dutch East India Company and Governor of Bengal from 1734-1744. A verte-imari 'Sichterman' two-handled bowl and cover of similar form was sold by Christie's London, in the The Van Daalen Collection of Chinese Art, 30 October - 6 November 2019, lot 39.
