The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The 'double-gourd' snuff bottle:
- A section of the branch is missing.
- There are two small chips to the raised decoration.
The 'rooster' snuff bottle:
- There is a nick to the foot rim and a minute nick to the top rim.
- There is a small bruise under the foot.
- There are two minute surface reaching flaw lines.
- There are a few surface nicks.
- The jadeite stopper with minute nicks.
The 'grasshopper' snuff bottle:
- There are few minute nicks to the rims and raised decoration.
- There are a few surface nicks.
- There is a small natural inclusion on the back with has been slightly polished.
- The stooper : the roundel has been restuck, with natural flaw lines.
- The three spoons are missing ; one stopper is missing.
There is general age-related surface wear and natural inclusions within the stone as can be expected.
