The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
- The first plate with : one flat chip to the rim (0.6 cm wide, 1/4 in. wide) and few nicks to the rim.
- The second plate with : one small hairline crack to the rim (1.5 cm long, 5/8 in. long), one flat chip to the rim (0.7 cm wide, 1/4 in. wide), one very small flat chip to the underside of the rim, and two firing flaws to the edge.
- The third plate with : few small chips and a subsequent amount of frits to the edge.
Otherwise, the plates are in overall good condition, with some age-related surface wear / scratches and wear to the gilding, as well as some firing flaws as can be expected.
