The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The ewer without mount:
The mouth rim of each spout with a few small areas of restoration with associated overspraying.
A glaze fault to the glaze on the foot rim.
A minute shallow chip to the foot rim.
A glaze fault to the body.
The ewer with a mount:
The ewer has not been examined without its mount.
One spout broken and restuck.
A few glaze gaps / small glaze chips at the junction between the foot and the body.
A few firing cracks to the base.
Both with some firing spots and faults, general age-related surface wear and scratches as can be expected.
