The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The famille rose teapot:
- There are several chips and an approx. 2 cm. long hairline to the inner rim of the cover.
- There are a few small chips to the teapot's inner rim.
- There is an area of restoration to the spout with associated overspraying which does not allow us to determine the extent of the damage.
- The handle has been restored with associated overspraying.
- There is some wear to the enamels.
- The teapot and cover with general age-related surface wear and scratches as can be expected.
The grisaille 'Diana' teapot:
- The cover's finial has been detached and restuck.
- There is a 1.5 cm. wide restored flat chip to the cover's rim.
- There is a flat chip under the foot rim.
- There is a very minute nick to the end of the spout.
The grisaille 'romantic scene' teapot:
- There is a a few star-cracks to the body, the longer one measuring approx. 17 cm. long.
- There is a minute nick to the end of the spout.
- There are some nicks to the foot rim.
- There is wear to the gilding.
All pieces with general age-related surface wear as can be expected.
