Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture. -The ink rest: There are a few nicks/chips to the extremities as can be expected, some of which may have been touched up slightly. There is a small section to the underside which appears to be a carving flaw. There are a few tiny holes throughout, most of which are probably associated with natural flaws in the stone. One edge of one of the scroll ends has been polished down slightly to conceal chips. -The pendant: There are a few natural flawlines to the stone and general age-related surface wear including minor nicks/bruises. Otherwise this is in overall fairly good condition. -The waterpot: There are a few tiny nicks/chips/bruises to the mouth rim, associated with lines which are mostly natural flaws to the stone. There is general age-related surface wear including minor nicks/bruises.
