The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The circular box and cover:
- There is a short hairline crack extending from the mouth rim.
- There is another thin hairline crack running along the mouth rim, which is caused by a natural fissure in the stone.
- The cover has a Y-shaped hairline crack extending from the rim.
- There are some very small nicks to the box and cover.

The flower-form box:
- The box has a chip and a short hairline to the interior rim.
- One compartment wall has a small whole to each side of the very thin carved sides.
- The read bead of the cover is possibly a later glass replacement.
- The cover has a small chip to the underside of the rim.
- The stone of the box and cover has some natural fissures, snow flakes and black sprinkles.
