    Lot Essay

    The inscriptions beside the paintings of birds and flowers contain the signature of artist Bi Botao (1886-1961), and the base of the teapot has a red seal containing the characters Botao. The top and sides of the teapot are further inscribed with archaistic auspicious phrases.
