The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the conditions of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The dishes:
-There are small chips to the extremities on eight of the dishes, the largest one measuring approx. 1.5 cm. wide.
-There is one corner (measuring approx. 4.8 cm. long) on one of the triangular dishes which has been broken off and restuck.
-There is a small corner (measuring approx. 2 cm. long) on another one of the triangular dishes which appears to have been restored.
-There is general age-related surface wear including rubbing to the enamels and gilding.
The lacquer box and cover:
-There are large sections (including two sides of the cover and two sides of the box) which have been broken off, some of which have been repaired.
-There are cracks to the wood, flakes to the lacquer, and rubbing to the gilding.
