The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Jar:
- with a section of overpainting to the rim and an associated crack to the rim overpainted (approx. 14 cm. long)
- the top half of the vase is covered with a thin transparent protective film
- a small area of overspray to the body
- two startcracks, one short hairline crack and some thin firing cracks visible in the interior.
- chips to the foot
The cover:
- around bottom of the finial, the rim edge and underside have been overpainted, unable to tell the condition underneath
- chips and kiln gfrit to the mouth rim
