The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The panel is faded overall, but still presents very well and some of the pigments are relatively vibrant 
-There are a few small areas where the white pigment may have been refreshed, such as Xiwangmu’s scepter, and the decoration on some of the immortals’ clothes
-A few very small areas where the blue and green pigments have been refreshed, particularly to the details of some of the figures’ clothes
-There are a few small areas of loss to the brown pigment at the top of the central pine tree
-A few small and expected areas of splitting in the weave, particularly to the edges of the clouds at the top of the panel
-Minor losses to the gold-wrapped threads to the left of the figure on the bottom right of the panel
-A few small areas of light soiling, as can be expected
-The panel has not been inspected outside of its frame
