The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- As seen in the illustration, there is some loss to the pigments and scratching to the surface and the base, as well as some earth encrustation.
- There is a large, shallow chip to the exterior of the mouth, as well as a few nicks to the mouth and the foot.
- One small area of the band above the foot has brown discoloration, possibly from firing in the kiln.
