The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Both:
- the stools are constructed with re-used timbre
- hard mat seats are replacements
- stretchers are probably later added
- expected nicks, minor chips, dents to the edges and surface scratches
One:- two feet with small polished loss
- two small wax fills to the inner edges of the narrow framing members
- two stretchers with a wax fill
- one leg with wax fill to where it meets the lower stretcher on the other narrow side
The other: - one longer framing member with a few gauge marks, a filled age crack and a few smaller filled areas
- one apron replaced
- one leg with two small patches and two wax fill on the inner side of the leg where it joins the frame
- small consolidated age crack with fill to another leg and a small flaw to the inner side where it joins the apron
- one upper stretcher on the narrow side with one filled area and a small patch
