LATE QING DYNASTY

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Both: filled age cracks to corners of frame
- reduced in height
- the stools had soft mat seat and the present hard seats are replacement
- expected nicks, small dents to the edges and surface scratches
One:
-one leg with repaired breaks to where it joins the apron and secured with pins and screws, and one adjacent stretcher with associated consolidated short breaks
- one leg with small fills
- one leg with small repairs to where in joins one stretcher that has a small burn mark
-two repaired areas to the mat seat
- legs with later added metal support
The other:
- minor burn mark to one long framing member's edge
- one leg reinforced with pins and screws and with a long filled age crack
- small losses to a repaired area on one apron on the narrow side
