The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- chips and flakes to edges and extremities
- there are areas of restoration
- a few short hairline cracks to the rim of the box with associated minor loss
- thre are other cracks to the interior of the cover and to both interior exnterior of the box, one of which is with an associated chip/knock
- some white residue to the crevices
