The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this object acquired after its initial manufacture.
- one leg with a consolidated age crack and associated pinning near the foot
- expected age cracks and wear to the feet
- the mat seat has been replaced as can be expected, the mat with a hole
- two stretchers have been recarved with associated patches where they join the leg, suggesting the stretchers are later added
- there is a patch to the top of leg where it joins the apron
- there is a repaired break to another leg where it joins the apron
