The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- there are a few hairline cracks to the mouth rim and to one handle, some of which have been repaired
- one handle has been off and restuck with associated restoration
- a few other areas of touch up, including to the mouth rim and one side of the body
- there are burst glazes bubbles, glaze gaps, and a few areas of firing flaws
- some kiln grit adhesion to the base
- expected surface scratches and wear, particularly to the feet
- the inscriptions on the neck and base are later added
