The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- both appear to be in overall good condition
- the one with the scholar and pine with a few chips to the corners of the reverse and minor scratching to the surface and a small red mark (possibly wax) to the front side
- the one with bamboo with a few shallow surface flakes to the lower front edge and one minute flake to the rock
