The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First vase:
- restoration to mouth rim
- an area of restoration to the exterior of the foot
- minor nicks and frits to mouth rim
Second vase:
- drilled hole to the base
- broken into several pieces and restuck, with a few associated losses, including one to the central panel on one side
- other restored breaks to mouth rim
Dish:
- two large restuck sections to one side with associated restoration
- overpainting to both interior and exterior, some of which are now lifting
- another hairline crack and a few kiln grit adhesions to the interior
- light rubbing to the enamels and gilding
- some nicks to foot rim, foot rim has been slightly buffed
