The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- one large chip to the mouth rim with an associated hairline
- a C-shape hairline crack to lower body on one side
- minor glaze irragularity to one ear of one elephant handle, only visble under black light
- there are some surface scratches
- rubbing to the enamel, particularly to the gilding
- '2004.34' is written in black enamel on the base
