- Both dishes have surface wear, particularly to the enamels on the interior and gilding on the mouth rim
- Both foot rims have been polished
- one dish has '85.85' written in black enamel on the base
- the other dish '85.86' written in black enamel on the base, and has irregularity to the enamel around the interior of the foot
